Universal Christmas Poem - Maya Christmas

(To Be Used in Case of an Unexpected Christmas Party with Maya Angelou Fans)

Ring your bell ragged, smiling Santa.

Ho-Ho-Ho

Ho-Ho-Ho

Ho-Ho-Ho

Your warm-barreled laughter creates moments of peace for brusque, passing shoppersby.

Clang, Plink

Clang, Plink

Clang, Plink

Your dented bell, their thrown change echo as metallic harmonies with the silent thank you’s of falling snow in our city.

Light your candles. Sing your songs–families.

Yours, mine, ours.

We all share this day together.

Taking this time. Making this time. Together.

Ha-Ha-Ha

Ha-Ha-Ha

Ha-Ha-Ha

We sing laughter as carols to all faces.

Some Old. Some New.

All of them, glad to see and be seen.

We have chased Winter’s cold winds from our homes with bear hugs and frightful kisses.

We all share this moment, ragged Santa.

Especially, those with no change.
